SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The Annual Cosumnes River Invitational tips off this afternoon at 1 PM with the first of four opening round games. It will be a great day of Lady basketball with 4 exciting 1st round games. The hosts Cosumnes River Hawks are the defending tournament champions and open the season ranked #10 in the north and they will start with the Butte College Roadrunners at 7 PM, in the opening day nightcap.
The tournament begins this afternoon at 1 PM with Golden Valley Conference Feather River College taking on Big 8 Conference American River College Beavers.
The 3 PM game will see South Coast Conference LA Trade Tech Beavers taking on Golden Valley Conference Shasta College Knights.
The 5 PM game will see Golden Valley Conference Redwood College Corsairs taking on local Big 8 Conference Sacramento City College Panthers.
The winner of the 1 PM contest between Feather River and American River will take on the winner of the LA Trade Tech vs. Shasta College matchup. That game will be scheduled for 4 PM on Friday. The winner of the 5 PM Redwoods College Sacramento City matchup will take on the winner of Cosumnes River Butte match up. That game will tip-off on Friday at 6 PM. Consolation bracket games will be scheduled Friday for 12 PM and 2 PM. The tournament continues through Saturday with the consolation championship taking place at 11 AM. The third place game will follow at 1 PM, with the championship game to be held at 3 PM.
Tickets are $6 for general admission, $4 for seniors, and $2 for children. Admission is always free for CRC students, staff and faculty. Concessions will be available to purchase at the event.
