Hawks Unable to Find Offensive Rhythm Against Beavers

Sacramento, CA- After a rough preseason, the Hawks looked forward to turning the page by beginning conference play against American River College. Cosumnes River knew they faced an uphill battle against their conference opponent who began play at (9-3).

The Hawks combined to shoot 24.6% from the field by making 16 of 65 shots. Brookelyn Larkin lead the team with 11 points on the night. The Beavers shot 34.3% and paced by Danielle Biggs' 23 points followed closely by Kesler Johnson's 20 points. CRC shot 37.5% from behind the 3-point arc, but only attempted 8 3-pointers during the game.

Rebounding numbers favored the Hawks as they outrebounded the Beavers 43-37. Jenna Elston, a freshman from River City High School, posted 13 rebounds on the night. Brookelyn Larkin, another freshman, posted 8 rebounds. Marya Reynolds and Micaela Dagler both grabbed 6 rebounds apiece off the bench.

Up Next- The Hawks get to enjoy their holidays with a bye and some extra days off. Their next game is back on the road against Diablo Valley College on January 2nd.  After DVC, the Hawks come home to face Folsom Lake College for their first home game of conference play. Both games begin at 5:30 PM.
