Hawks Fall to 0-2 Against Diablo Valley College

Pleasant Hill, CA- After starting their conference season with a loss against ARC, the Hawks took on 9-3 Diablo Valley College. The Vikings were 2-0 in conference play before taking on the 0-1 Hawks at home. Diablo Valley started off strong by taking a 23-11 lead against a shorthanded Hawks squad.

Trina Shaner lead the Hawks with 17 points consisting of 7 from the free throw line. Shaner shot 87.5% from the free throw line (7-8). Brookelyn Larkin added 16 points to the Hawk's offense. Quoquese Jackson was the only other starter to contribute points to the Hawk attack by putting up 12 points. 

On the defensive end, Cosumnes River College forced 14 turnovers on the night. Quoquese Jackson had 3 steals during the game. Larkin and Shaner both contributed 2 steals apiece to the Hawk's defense. Brookelyn Larkin and Marya Reynolds both grabbed 6 rebounds to lead the Hawks. As a team, the Hawks combined for 21 rebounds. The Vikings were able to outrebound the Hawks 44-21 during the game. 

Up Next- The Hawks come home for their first home game of the conference season. Thursday January 4th, the Cosumnes River College hosts the Folsom Lake College Falcons at 5:30 PM. Cosumnes River looks to reverse their skid against the Falcons and take their first conference victory on the young season.
