PLEASANT HILL (1-27) - A short-handed Hawks team traveled to Pleasant Hill to take on CCCSIA #1 Diablo Valley College. The Vikings topped the Hawks 74-40.

In the first quarter, the Vikings scored the first basket off the tip. The Hawks wouldn't go away and battled back to not only tie the game but go up 16-10 with two minutes left in the first quarter. Despite a strong 16-2 run in the first quarter, the Vikings led 23-19 at the end of the first quarter.

In the second quarter, the Vikings came out in the second quarter and switched their defense. The Hawks were unable to find an open shot as they score five points in the quarter and trailed 45-24 at halftime. Sheniah Castex and Brookelyn Larkin had five points apiece. Jahnay Anderson led the Vikings with eighteen points. 

In the third quarter, Hawks continued to play great defense, holding the Vikings to their third lowest scoring outputs of the season. In the fourth quarter, the Hawks found some extra energy but the Vikings' lead was too much to overcome.

The loss was the Hawks' third in a row.

Micaela Dagler and Larkin both had double doubles. Dagler had twelve points and twelve rebounds and Larkin had twelve points and ten rebounds of her own. Jahnay Anderson led the Vikings with a game high twenty four points. Castex had seven points for the Hawks in the loss. Jasmine Kong had eighteen points and Leilani Moncrease pulled down a double double, scoring seventeen points and collected nineteen rebounds.

The next game for the Hawks will be Tuesday as they take on Folsom Lake College in Sacramento at 5:30 pm.
