SACRAMENTO (2-3) - The women's basketball team hosted their first "Recruit Day" which brought out fourteen potential future players for the Hawks.

The day began with a talk from newly hired Matthew Wohl, the team's athletic counselor. The recruits heard about all the programs that Cosumnes River College offers from high level of academics to the First Year Experience program which helps students through their first year as a college student. Wohl said to the group of young ladies, "I would love for you all to be my first recruit class. I am here for you all to help you succeed off the court and for your academic future."

The clouds broke just in time for the tour of the campus which concluded in the fantastic Community and Athletic Center which holds the main gymnasium, the Hawk Study Center and the women's basketball team room.

The day concluded with a talk from the coaching staff where Head Coach Coral Sage spoke about the 3 C's – Classroom, Court and Character - the three pillars on which Cosumnes River builds their basketball program. As the day ended, the women's basketball team added five official commits with more to come.

Assistant coach Jennifer Jacobs said, "The recruit day went very well. It was exciting to see the large turnout despite the poor weather. Getting some official commitments was very exciting. The future of Cosumnes River women's basketball is bright."
