CRC Invitational Starts on Thursday

SACRAMENTO (11-4) – Cosumnes River will host the annual CRC Invitational on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The invitational will feature eight teams from around the state with the championship, consolation and third place game taking place on Saturday. The first round and second round games will occur on Thursday and Friday. On Friday, the 4 pm and the 6 pm games will take place in PE 113.

As follows is a preview of the tournament competitors:

Cosumnes River – The Hawks finished 9-18 last year. The Hawks return Arionna Butts (15.6 ppg) and Kiara Jones (2 ppg).

American River – The Beavers finished 10-17 last year and finished third in last year's CRC Invitational. The Beavers return Shanice Daniel (4.9 ppg) and Dejza Boyd-Tanner (4.4 ppg) from last season.

Folsom Lake – The Falcons finished 11-15 last year. The Falcons return Shay Boley (14.2 ppg) from last year.

LA Trade-Tech – The Beavers finished 28-5 last year and finished their season in the CCCAA State Quarterfinals. The Beavers are the two-time defending champions of the CRC Invitational.

Los Medanos – The Mustangs finished 6-16 last year.

Monterey Peninsula – The Lobos finished 11-15 last year. The Lobos return Jocelyn Cazarez (15.2 ppg), Jayonah Chaboya (9.6 ppg), Desiree Mexicano (2.4 ppg) and Nicole Vazquez (0.7 ppg) from last season.

Shasta – The Knights finished 14-12 last year and finished their season in the CCCAA Northern California Playoffs. Kylee White returns to the Knights this season. The Knights are the two-time defending runners-up of the CRC Invitational.

West Hills (Lemoore) – The Golden Eagles finished 9-17 last year.
