Hawks fall to Siskiyous after strong showing by Shirley and Jones.

Weed, Calif. ----- Cosumnes River traveled up to the College of Siskiyous (1-0) for their season opener over the weekend. The Hawks fell to the Screaming Eagles, despite a strong showing from freshman Chelsea Shirley and sophmore Kiara Jones

 

Chelsea Shirley had a team high 15 points and 15 reabounds. The freshman played an intricate role in the effort put up by the Hawks. Kiara Jones was also a force on both ends, just one rebound shy of a double double. Jones tallied 12 points and 9 rebounds, as she completely dominated the paint against the Screaming Eagles. The Hawks were led in the backcourt by freshman point guard Briley Jordet, as she added 5 composed points. 

 

The Hawks (0-1) will turn their sights onto Monterey Peninsula for their home opener. The Hawks will be featured Thursday night through Saturday night, as they host their tournament.
