CRC PLAYS HOST TO SIERRA TOMORROW NIGHT UNDER THE LIGHTS

SACRAMENTO, Calif.- The Cosumnes River women's soccer team is coming off their toughest stretch of the season, suffering two consecutive losses to conference foes.  The CRC women's soccer team will look to snap their current losing streak tomorrow night when they play host to rival Sierra College tomorrow night at CRC Stadium.

After beginning their Big 8 conference schedule "white hot," with three consecutive shutout victories, the Hawks have struggled over the past week.  Following a 1-0 home defeat to DVC, the Hawks first of the year, CRC was beaten handedly by Delta 4-0 on the road this past Tuesday.  Cosumnes River has relied heavily on their defense all season, led by sophomores Becky Gallo and Megan Gomez, as well as freshman goalkeeper Anna Brown.  However, the team has struggled to find the net being shutout in their last two matches, and only scoring one goal in their last three.

The Hawks will face a difficult task when they take the field tomorrow night, as Sierra College is currently undefeated in Big 8 play (7-2-1; 2-0-1).  The Wolverines are led offensively by sophomore forward Meghan Martell, whose five goals in 10 matches is third best in the Big 8 conference, just behind Hawks sophomore Vilma Gonzalez.  In net, Molly McConnell possesses a 6-2 record in eight matches played this season.

Tomorrow night's match is slated to begin at 7 PM at CRC Stadium.  Tickets are $6 for general admission, $4 for seniors, and $2 for children.  Admission is always free for CRC students, staff and faculty.  Concessions will be available to purchase at the event.  For more information, please visit our Game Day Information section.
