SOCCER PLAYOFFS CONTINUE TONIGHT AT CRC STADIUM

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The Cosumnes River women's soccer team continues their pursuit of a CCCAA State Championship tonight when they host Santa Rosa.  The match is scheduled to begin at 6 PM.

Head Coach Cesar Plasencia (pictured right) and his team looks to build off their postseason opener, a 1-0 victory over Big 8 rival Delta.  CRC opened with the Mustangs this past Saturday, in a physical match that was deadlocked through the first 60 minutes of action.  Sophomore midfielder Alyssa Hanks broke through the Mustangs stingy defense with roughly 27 minutes to play, putting CRC up for good 1-0 to help them advance to the second round of postseason play.  The Hawks defense was once again stellar on the night, as freshman goalkeeper Anna Brown recorded seven saves, and her 12th shutout of the season.

The Hawks will face the always difficult task of taking a third straight victory against a team when they take on the Bear Cubs of Santa Rosa tonight under the lights of CRC Stadium.  CRC defeated Santa Rosa earlier this season on the road in their Big 8 opener 1-0, and later defeated them at home 2-0 to take the series sweep.  The Hawks will need another strong performance from their defense tonight to maintain their formula for success against Santa Rosa, having yet to concede a goal to that team through two matches.

Kick-off for tonight's match is scheduled for 6 PM at CRC Stadium.  Tickets are $6 for general admission, $4 for seniors, and $2 for children.  Parking permits are available for $1 at designated kiosks throughout campus.  Admission is always free for CRC students, staff and faculty.  Concessions will be available to purchase at the event.
