Andrea Story got the Hawks on the scoreboard just 24 seconds into the match against the Pirates with her sixth goal on the year and the fourth in Big 8 action. Averen Calvin got the assist, her fourth of the year and her second in conference play.
Calvin took it from there scoring twice for the Hawks, once in the 24th minute on herseventh goal and her fifth in Big 8 play. Story had the assist her first of the day and her fourth of the year and third in conference action.
The Hawks led 2-0 at the break, outshooting the Pirates 3-2 in the half.
In the second half it was Calvin scoring in the 78th minute on her eighth goal of the year and the sixth of Big 8 conference play. Story assisted on this goal by Calvin as well, her fourth goal in Big 8 action.
Hawks goalie Elizabeth Kowalczyk had the shutout facing six shots on goal from the Pirates. The shutout was the first of the year for Kowalczyk and lowered her goals against average to 1.59 on the year.
