Baseball vs. Sierra College

Hawks defense does it again in o-o tie with SRJC!

Hawks defense does it again in o-o tie with SRJC!

In the Hawks last six games they are 3-2-1 but that doesn't tell the whole story. In those six games they have given up only two goals as the two losses were by 1-0 scores.

The Hawks took to the road on Friday and ventured out of the nest to visit Santa Rosa who are rolling along in Big 8 conference play.

For the second time this year the Hawks have left the Bear Cubs wanting more, this time as a 0-0 tie left a bad feeling in the minds of Santa Rosa.

Cosumnes River out shot the Bear Cubs by a 7-6 margin on the day as CRC Goalie and Athlete of the Week Elizabeth Kowalczyk stopped all six shots on goal she faced in the match. It was the fourth time this season Kowalczyk has held an oppenent without a goal. Even considering two were ties, Kowalczyk and the Hawks are on a defensive roll right now.

Kowalczyk lowered her goals against average to 1.29 on the season and now has a sparkling 1.0 GAA in Big 8 play.

The Hawks are now 4-5-2 in conference play and 6-7-4 overall.

Next up for the Hawks is a home match against a team they need to climb over in the conference action, as Sierra college comes to CRC. The Hawks lost to Sierra 2-1 on the road and need to grab a victory this time around. Gametime is at 3:30 on Tuesday the 25th.

Friday has our Hawks traveling to ARC for a 5pm match.
