After giving up an early goal to Modesto, the rest of the first half remained at a 1-0 lead for the Pirates.
In the early second half the Hawks were ready to score and they did as Averen Calvin got CRC on the board in the 51st minute with her 11th goal on the season and her ninth in Big 8 action. Ariel Klink had her first assist of the season on Calvin's goal.
Klink was not finished for the match as she scored less than a minute later to put the Hawks ahead if only for a short time. Klinks goal was her third in conference play and her seventh overall.
Some three minutes later the Pirates began their plunder of the Hawks as they scored three goals in a 20 minute span to put the Hawks away for the final 4-2 margin.
With the loss, the Hawks drop to 11-8-6 overall on the season and they are at 7-5-2 in Big 8 play. The Hawks are in fourth place in Big 8 play.
Next up for the Hawks is their season finale on Friday here at CRC at 3pm. The Hawks will take on San Joaquin Delta who are in first place in the Big 8 Conference. Modesto comes in at 20-2-2 on the season and they are 11-1-2 in Big 8 action.
