The Hawks needed a win to assure themselves a spot in the playoffs.
They got it.
As it seems like it has been down the stretch, Averen Calvin is the horse the Hawks will ride into the playoffs and as far as she will take them.
In the ninteenth minute Calvin scored off an assist from Amanda Lopez for her 10th goal in Big 8 action and the 12th overall this year for the freshman.
That was the halftime score for the Hawks lead.
After Delta brought the Mustangs even in the 63rd minute, the Hawks took over. Ariel Klink scored what would prove to be the game winner in the 88th minute off an assist from Calvin who had her feet in all three CRC goals. The goal was Klink's eighth on the season and her fourth in Big 8 play. Calvin's assist was her fifth overall and third in conference play.
Just before the end of regulation Calvin scored again adding her 13th goal of the season off Anna Ottley's fourth assist of the year.
With the win CRC finishes in fourth place in the Big 8 at 7-5-2 and 11-8-6 overall.
The Hawks will travel this coming Saturday and play Evergreen College who the Hawks tied earlier in the season 1-1. Game time has not been established as of this time.
