SACRAMENTO (9-6) - Cosumnes River started their two match homestand as they take on Lake Tahoe Community College. The Hawks won a high-scoring match 5-4.

In their last match, the Hawks lost 2-0 to Evergreen Valley College on Wednesday in San Jose while the Coyotes finished with a draw, 0-0, with Cerritos College yesterday in South Lake Tahoe.

In the first half, Lake Tahoe was the first to get on the scoreboard as Kenya Maltase scored to give the Coyotes a 1-0 lead just 2:21 into the match. Not to be outdone, the Hawks would get an equalizer on an Analissa Lopez goal off a Jessey Santos pass to tie the match at 1-1 with 40:46 left in the half. With 34:16 left in the half, Katrina Vina scored off a Santos pass to give the Hawks a 2-1 lead. Santos would score a goal off a Vina pass with 23:51 left in the half to give the Hawks a 3-1 lead. Maltase would score again with 14:00 left to trim the Hawks' lead to 3-2. In stoppage time, Zarela Villa scored for the Coyotes to tie the match at 3-3. The match was tied at 3-3 at halftime.

In the second half, the Hawks would get on the scoreboard first. Santos would score her second goal of the match to give the Hawks a 4-3 lead with 20:04 left. Maltase would score her third goal of the match with 16:52 left to tie the match at 4-4. A little over two minutes of clock time later, Alexis Brown would score the eventual game winner with 14:20 left to give the Hawks a 5-4 lead. Emma Dayberry would have the last chance for the Coyotes but her shot went high. The win ended the Hawks' two match losing streak.

Analissa Lopez had three shots to lead the Hawks while for Lake Tahoe, Maltase had a match high five shots. Shelby Hand got the win for Cosumnes River while Claudia Janese got the loss for the Coyotes. Cosumnes River outshot Lake Tahoe 13-11 while Lake Tahoe had three more fouls (7-4) than did Cosumnes River.

The Hawks will have their next match on Sunday as they will take on Cerritos College in Sacramento. Kickoff is set for 10 am.
