STOCKTON (10-5) - The Hawks wrapped up the first half of Big 8 Conference play with a draw against San Joaquin Delta College on Friday.
In the first half, the Mustangs outshot the Hawks 14-4. The Mustangs failed to get on the scoresheet early when they were awarded with a penalty kick as the shot went wide right of the goal. The game was tied at halftime.
In the second half, the two teams played at a back-and-forth pace with multiple opportunities to score for both sides. Freshman forward Obioma Onejeme almost converted for the Hawks late in the match but her header was saved by Mustang goalkeeper Adrieanna Wood. The match ended in a 0-0 draw.
Freshman goalkeeper Tanayjah Tamano played made eight saves in 90 minutes of play.
The Hawks will travel to Rocklin to take on Sierra College on Friday. Kickoff at 4:30 pm.
