Clarence Fernandez played her best tennis of the season.  Overcoming early nerves, Fernandez rallied with her partner Taylor Galya to dig out of an early hole.  With Galya's strong net play and Fernandez' steady groundstrokes and her continued aggressive play from the baseline they earned their first victory as a doubles team, avenging an earlier defeat to the Tigers.  In singles play, Galya defeated Aly Honore 6-0, 6-0. Coach Ellis commented about the teams effort, "It was a good effort for us. One player who really stood out was Clarence Fernandez who really did a great job of overcoming her nerves and hitting the ball with conviction.  I would say that today she really played like she is capable, and I think her confidence grew from her experience. Winning her first match at #1 doubles was a big step in her development.  It taught her that when she gets out of her own way, her game elevates.
