CRC Women move on to State Tornament!

Match Report: Taylor Galya, the number 2 seed in the Big 8 South, cruised through her first two matches to reach the quarterfinals in women's singles.  In doing so, she qualified for the state tournament on April 21st in Ventura.  With the real work ahead Galya will face off against the toughest opponents in Northern California as she get closer to the big 8 title.  Also making it past the first day of competition were Kyleigh Carpenter, Clarence Fernandez and Corinne Hand.

Friday Update: Taylor Galya had a long day of tennis, playing two doubles matches and two singles matches.  She and Clarence Fernandez overcame a 4-1 deficit to defeat Reedley College, advancing to the state tournament in Ventura.  Galya played a tough quarterfinal in the heat of the day against a very challenging opponent, Parker Pilate of Modesto Junior College.  She grinded her way to a 6-4, 6-2 victory to advance to the semifinals, where she was defeated by the number one player from Fresno City College.  Taylor was the only freshman to make it to the final four of the conference.  Next up for the Lady Hawks is the state tournament in Ventura.
