Hawks Win 7-2 Over Tigers

SACRAMENTO (2-22) - Cosumnes River traveled to Reedley to take on Reedley College in Big 8 Conference-South Division play. The Hawks won four singles matches en route to a 7-2 victory.

The Hawks won four singles matches while the Tigers won two. In the #1 singles match between Krista Le of Cosumnes River and Sofia Salinas of Reedley, Le defeated Salinas 7-5, 6-4. In the #3 singles match between Angela Hurtado of the Hawks and Ariana Torres of the Tigers, Hurtado defeated Torres 6-1, 6-1. In the #5 singles match between Hannah Dinkins of Cosumnes River and Houa Xiong of Reedley, Dinkins defeated Xiong 6-2, 6-2. The #6 singles match was won by the Hawks via forfeit. In the #2 singles match between Salma Prasad of the Hawks and Samantha Rios of Reedley, Rios defeated Prasad with the score of 6-3, 6-2. The tightest singles match was the #4 singles match between Paola Barron-Zamora of the Hawks and Jacqueline Carrillo of the Tigers. Carrillo defeated Barron-Zamora 6-0, 4-6, 10-8.

The Hawks won all three doubles matches that were played. In the #1 doubles match between Hurtado and Le of Cosumnes River and Rios and Salinas of Reedley, Hurtado and Le defeated Rios and Salinas 8-4. The #3 doubles match was won by the Hawks via forfeit. The tightest doubles match was the #2 doubles match between Dinkins and Prasad of the Hawks and Carrillo and Torres, Dinkins and Prasad defeated Carrillo and Torres 8-5.
