SACRAMENTO (3-22) - The Hawks played their final regular season home match as they took Porterville College in Big 8 Conference play. The Pirates won four singles matches and won 6-3 over the Hawks.
In their last match, the Hawks won 9-0 over Reedley College on Tuesday in Sacramento while the Pirates lost 7-2 to Bakersfield College in Bakersfield on Saturday.
Porterville won four singles matches while Cosumnes River won two. In the #1 singles match between Krista Le of Cosumnes River played Claire Nuno of Modesto, Le defeated Nuno 6-1, 6-2. In the #2 singles match between Salma Prasad of the Hawks and Eileen Counihan-Rooney of the Pirates, Counihan-Rooney defeated Prasad 6-0, 6-0. In the #4 singles match between Paola Barron-Zamora of Cosumnes River and Vanessa Chavez of Porterville, Chavez defeated Barron-Zamora 6-3, 6-4. In the #5 singles match between Hannah Dinkins of the Hawks and Zoe Vazquez of the Pirates, Dinkins defeated Vazquez 6-1, 6-4. In the #6 singles match between Evelyn Bravo of Cosumnes River and Annabelle Rivera of Porterville, Rivera defeated Bravo 1-6, 6-3, 6-4. The tightest singles match was the #3 singles match between Angela Hurtado of the Hawks and Viviana Meza of the Pirates. Hurtado defeated Meza 7-6, 6-7, 10-2.
Porterville won two doubles matches while Cosumnes River won one. In the #2 doubles match between Barron-Zamora and Bravo of Cosumnes River and Chavez and Meza of Porterville, Barron-Zamora and Bravo defeated Chavez and Meza 8-0. In the #3 doubles match between Dinkins and Prasad of the Hawks and Rivera and Vazques of the Pirates, Dinkins and Prasad defeated Rivera and Vazques 8-3. The tightest doubles match was the #1 doubles match between Hurtado and Le of Cosumnes River and Counihan and Nuno of Porterville. Counihan and Nuno defeated Hurtado and Le 8-4.
