A new Volleyball era begins at CRC!

With serious history behind the whole Post family in the Yuba City Volleyball lore, it was really special for this years volleyball opener to be against the 49ers. With new Coach Kari Post playing for Yuba city as well as her Mom and Grandmother previously being the driving force behind 49ers volleyball, this was a sweet way to begin her coaching career here at CRC.

The Hawks swept to a 3-0 victory with 25-18, 25-21, and 25-18 scores in both teams season openers for the 2016 year.

The Hawks were led offensively by Hannah Norris who had 13 kills and a superb .478 hitting percentage. Olivia Sowles wasn't far behing with seven kills of her own, following with a .467 percentage on the night.

Lauren Smith ran the Hawks offense very well for the opener as she had 32 assists on the evening. The Hawks had 33 assists on their 32 kills for the match.

Defensively the Hawks were led by Clarissa Pacheco who had 10 digs for the match followed closely by Keilani Gaither and Justine Busse with 9 digs apiece and Maya Young with seven digs on the night.

Both Meg Maddalena and Olivia Sowles each had two blocks for the Hawks against the 49ers.

Coach Post was very pleased with her teams play saying "they were very together and played well, better than I expected considering itwas much better than practice had shown,"

Post added that "maybe we are one of those teams that plays much better in games, time will tell."

Time will tell indeed, but the Hawks are off to a flying start to the season.
