CRC grounds Falcons 3-0, continue Volleyball assault!

When you look at the score line from the Hawks 3-0 victory over the Falcons of Solano, it might look like offense was the key. Reading between the boxscore lines there is an undercurrent of solid defense that led the Hawks.

With a match sweep by set scores of 25-17, 25-14, and 25-22, the Hawks continue to play well offensively with a team hitting percentage of .277 for the match led by Hannah Norris 10 kills and .471 percentage and Olivia Sowles with the same hitting percent of .471 with her eight kills.

Lauren Smith again led the way with 22 assists for the Hawks on the night.

The real key just might have been the defense the was able to thwart the Solano attack as both Keilani Gaither and Justine Busse played tremendously for CRC. Gaither led the defense with 15 digs in the game and Busse added 14 as well. The Hawks had 47 digs in the match, nine more than they had against Yuba City which was indicative of the hustle the Hawks put out. Norris also had two blocks for the Hawks as they ran their record to 2-0 on the young season.

Next up for the Hawks will be another double header at the Skyline Classic where the Hawks will take on San Mateo and later in the evening they will face Skyline.
