Santa Rosa outlasts the Hawks.

Santa Rosa got their first Big 8 win by defeating our Hawks in four sets, 23-25, 22-25, 25-18, and 19-25. SRJC is now 1-5 and 2-10 over all while the Hawks drop to 0-5 in the Big 8 and 5-10 for the season.

CRC jumped out to a lead in the first set before SRJC fought back and grabbed the win. In the second it was close all the way with both teams fighting through each others scoring runs. The third set the Hawks jumped out to a bigger lead but had to fight off the Lady Bear Cubs to hold onto the win. Santa Rosa lead most of the way in the back and forth fourth set but the Hawks were never really out of the set until the end.

For the match, Hannah Norris had 19 kills on a .385 kill percentage as well as 5 blocks on the night. Olivia Sowles and Meg Maddalena had six kills apiece for the Hawks while Lauren Smith added four of her own.

In addition to her kills, Smith had all 32 of the Hawks assists and she contributed 4 digs in the match. Justine Busse led the Hawks with 13 digs and Maya Young was right on her heels with 11 of her own. Sowles added eight digs and Clarissa Pacheco had seven and Keilani Gaither chipped in with six digs.

Next up for the Hawks is a trip to Folsom Lake to take on the Falcons who are 12-4 on the season and 3-2 in Big 8 play. The match will be at 6:30pm on Friday.
