Unable to get momentum, Hawks fall at home to Panthers

Sacramento, CA- The Cosumnes River College Hawks looked to end the first half of their season and go into their bye on a positive note by defeating cross town Sacramento City College Panthers. The Hawks fell below .500 by losing at home 3-1 to the Panthers in four sets on the night.

Despite being at home, the Hawks were unable to muster much offensive flow and hit only a .059 on the match, compared to the Panthers .157. Rebakkah McLaughlin led the Hawks with a .360 hit percentage which resulted in 12 kills on the evening. She also set up her teammates, contributing 17 assists as well. Maya Young and Justine Busse set the pace for the Hawks back row with 17 digs apiece. The Hawks had 84 digs during the 4-set match.

Up next- The Hawks have Friday off for their bye game. They return to action October 18th by taking on Modesto in Modesto. Cosumnes River College looks to repeat their opening performance in which they defeated Modesto Junior College in 3 sets.
