The Cosumnes River Hawks (11-7, 1-1 BIG 8) couldn't keep up with the American River College Beavers (6-10, 1-1 BIG 8) Wednesday, losing 8 to 3. American River scored early and never looked back. The Hawks had a chance to come back in the top of the 8th inning, but a costly base running mistake left 3 runners on base in a 5 to 3 ball game.   

The Hawks pitching staff allowed 7 earned runs on 9 hits. The loss gave Josh Caldwell his 2nd loss of the year. The Hawks offensively had 8 hits but left 11 runners on base. Before the 8th inning, the only offense for the Hawks was a solo homerun by Aaron Pierce. The Hawks will rap up the 3 game series Sunday at Conway Field.
