Hawks Take Game Two in Series

SACRAMENTO (3-1) – The Hawks returned home to take on Sacramento City College in their Big 8 Conference home opener. The Hawks won 6-5 over the Panthers.

In the first game of the three-game series, the Hawks defeated the Panthers 5-2 in Sacramento.

Brian Freitas started on the mound for the Hawks. Freitas went 2.1 innings before being relieved by Kyle Galart. Galart was very competitive in his six innings on the mound. Griffin Selby pitched to record the final two outs for the Hawks.

Burle Dixon led the Hawks' offensive leader. Dixon went 2-4 driving in two runs and scored twice. Greg Creamer had two RBIs. Dean Lucas was 1-2 with three walks, scored two runs and had an RBI. Selby had an RBI. Essex Brown was 2-4 and scored once. Brett Graber added a hit on the day. Clay Duval also scored a run scored.

Galart was the winning pitcher while Selby earned a save. TJ Smith was the losing pitcher.

The Panther and Hawks will play game three of the series Monday at Conway Field.
