Hawks Top Jaguars for First Win of Season

SAN JOSE (11-3) - The Hawks ended their three-game trip to San Jose as they take on San Jose City College. The Hawks defeated the Jaguars 86-61.

In the first half, the Hawks maintained a tight lead until the seven minute mark when the Jaguars took their largest lead of the game at 22-18. After a timeout, the Hawks tightened up the defense and created transition opportunities on offense. The Hawks took a 36-28 lead into the half.

In the second half, the Hawks extended their lead. The Hawks stayed solid on the defensive end which created fast break points on the other end. The Hawks held their largest lead of the game at 69-39.

Twelve players scored with four finishing in double figures. Paul Ohiri led the team with eighteen points and eight rebounds. Drew Buggs finished with another double-double with twelve points and thirteen rebounds. Marcus Robinson contributed in many areas with twelve points, five rebounds, and four assists. Devante Kerr-Hall helped with eleven points and six rebounds.

The next game for the Hawks will be November 15th as they take on Los Medanos College in Ukiah. The game is a part of the John Hogue Memorial Classic hosted by Mendocino College.
