Hawks Finish Week Going 2-1 In The Win Column

Sacramento, CA

The Hawks opened the week with a 3-1 win against ARC at CRC Stadium on Tuesday. Amber Wright lead the Hawks at the plate going 3 for 4 and scoring twice. Angelica Dark got the win and Aimee Hutchinson got the save as they combined for a total of 4 hits, no earned runs, and 6 strikeouts.

Thursday the Hawks faced Sierra in their last conference homestand of the season and split the day by winning game 1 in 8 innings, 2-1 and losing game 2, 2-0. Pitching and defense combined at the right time helped to keep both games low scoring and pressure filled. Both games combined a total of 6 errors and 25 runners left on base by both teams. 

Amber Wright lead the Hawks at the plate going for 4 for 6 on the day while it was Brenda Velasquez's sac fly in the bottom of the 8th inning in game 1 that gave the Hawks the win. Aimee Hutchinson got the win in game 1 and Angelica Dark got the loss for the Hawks going 3 1/3 innings in game 2.

The Hawks will finish the regular season and conference play when they travel to Diablo Valley College Tuesday for a 3 pm game. Fans can follow along on GameChanger.

Post-season play will begin May 7th and 8th as the Hawks seeding will determine the location of Regional play.
