Hawks Advance To Super Regionals

Sacramento, CA

The Hawks took 2 games from Feather River this weekend to advance to the Super Regionals next weekend. Game 1 Saturday saw the Hawks battle Feather River to a 11-5 win in 7 innings. The Hawks pounded out 12 hits while committing 3 error as the hits were spread throughout the lineup with Amber Wright, Kaitlin Pires, Kacey Lutz, and Courtney Beatty adding 2 hits each.

Angelica Dark got the win for the Hawks in game 1.

Game 2 Sunday saw the Hawks lose the coin toss, and started as the visiting team. The Hawks wasted no time time jumping out to a 5-0 lead in the top of the 1st inning. After pounding out another 10 hits, the Hawks took the win 8-0 in 6 innings. Kaitlin Pires and Kacey Lutz picked up another 2 hits each on the day.

Angelica Dark got her 2nd win of the weekend for the Hawks throwing a 5 hit shutout in game 2. 

Kacey Lutz was the big story for the Hawks on the weekend going 4 for 4 in 2 days while adding 3 walks and a sacrafice with 4 RBIs. Aditionally, Lutz added 10 putouts/assists for the weekend. 

Kaitlin Pires added additional defense for the Hawks while recording 13 putouts/assists on the weekend.

Raechel Hooper added 5 RBIs to her conference leading total as well on the weekend.

The Hawks will await the re-seeding for the Super Regional to be posted as soon as weekend play is finished. The new brackets will be posted as soon as they become avaliable.
