Hawks Walk-Off In The Bottom Of 14th Inning

STOCKTON (5-12) - The Hawks opened the Super Regionals in dramatic fashion with a 5-4 win in a 14-inning contest that was close to being called due to darkness. 

Lindsay Lambert lead the bottom of the 14th off with a single to left field and moved to second on a passed ball. Veronica Smith then singled to right field to lead the Hawks to the walk-off win.  

The Hawks faced Nalani Scates, who was named the CCCAA Northern California Pitcher of the Year, and put up seventeen hits but left 14 runners on-base. The Hawks scored in the 1st, 6th, and 12th innings while Ohlone scored in the 3rd, 6th, and 12th innings to keep the game tied into the 14th.

Miranda Rodriguez went 4-7, Taelor Ford went 3-7, Veronica Smith went 3-7, and Lindsay Lambert went 3-5. Smith and Lambert both picked up two RBIs apiece.

Ashleigh Berg picked up the win throwing 3 innings in relief. Brittany Baroni started the game for the Hawks and threw 11 innings giving up 14 hits and 4 earned runs.

The Hawks will face San Joaquin Delta College in Stockton for game three of the Super Regionals at 12:00 pm Saturday.
