Softball Starts Conference with two wins

Game 1- CRC 7 City 4

In the top of the first inning City jumped on top scoring two unearned runs.  Looking to get back the runs Amber Wright started the inning off with a base hit to center and was moved over on a sac bunt by Korina Krueg. Ashlee Kaiser walked, with runners on 1st and 2nd  Taelor Ford singled to score Amber Wright from 2nd.

The score remained the same for the next three innings when Sac City brought across 1 run in the 5th inning making the score 3-1 City.  To lead off the bottom of the 5th inning Korina Krueg singled, Ashlee Kaiser walked and Korina Krueg scored on an error from a ball off the bat of Cecillia Rivera. Evening up the score Taelor Ford hit a sacrifice fly scoring Ashlee Kaiser.  With the Hawks looking to jump ahead Verionica Smith homered to left field making the score 5-3.

Adding to the lead the Hawks bring across two more runs in the bottom of the 6th one on a passed ball scoring Cassandra Thomas and another run on a Korina Krueg Sac fly scoring Amber Wright.

In the top of the 7th Sac City brings across 1 run but the Hawks are able to close out the game, winning 7-4.

Ashleigh Berg got the win for the Hawks pitching 7 innings allowing 2 earned runs (2 Unearned runs), giving up 9 hits  and striking out 4.

Game 2- CRC 7 City 5

CRC jumped on top in the first inning scoring  Amber Wright on a Taelor Ford single to center.  But City comes up with a 3 run homerun to take the lead 3-1. 

Hawks looking to fight back DH Seann Powell singled to lead off the inning, Casey Thomas followed up with a walk and lead off hitter Amber Wright hit an inside the park Home Run to give the Hawks the 4-3 lead.  City once again comes back scoring 2 runs to take the 5-4 lead in the top of the 3rd.

With the bases full of Hawks Seann came up big with a single to right field that scores Cecillia Rivera and Taelor Ford.

The Hawks extend their lead in the bottom of the 6th with a sacrifice fly off the bat of Korina Krueg that scored Cassandra Thomas.

Gabriella Montaie earns the win going 7 innings giving up 4 earned runs ( 1 unearned run), giving up 6 hits and striking out 6.

Top hitters in game two for the Hawks were Amber Wright 2-4 3RBI HR, Taelor Ford 2-3 Saenn Powell 2-3 2 RBI.
