Hawks Stay in First With 8-0 Win Over ARC

The 9th ranked Cosumnes River Hawks (CRC) posted a 8-0 win over American River College (ARC), in Big 8 Conference play today. Ashlee Toy pitched her eighth shutout of the season, and offensively, the Hawks had a balanced attack with four players notching two hits apiece. The win keeps the Hawks in first place just past the halfway point of the conference season.

"Once again Ashlee pitched a great game," commented Head Coach Kristy Schroeder. "I was really happy with our offensive production. Gabi got us started and we just kept it going."

Toy held ARC to three hits and struck out nine earning her conference leading 13th win. She also had two hits and two runs for CRC. Tori Ochoa had a two-RBI double to break open the game in the third. Danielle Pfennig, Nicole Saravia, and Gabi Lipsky each had two hits to power the Hawks to their fifth run-rule win of the year.

CRC returns to action at Santa Rosa Junior College on Saturday for a double header.
