This will be Janelle’s first season as an
Assistant Coach for the Cosumnes River College softball team.
Her freshman year at Cosumnes, she was a starter in the outfield
playing left field after suffering an arm injury in the fall
season. After recovery, she had a successful comeback with
becoming a key defensive player for the Hawks. She
contributed a batting average of .286 with 5 doubles, and 1 triple
for the season. She also received the “Most Improved
Player” award, which was given by coaches and
teammates. During her sophomore year, she was the starting
center fielder with an excellent year. Her batting average
that year was .297 with 7 doubles, and 1 home run against American
River. Her teammates would always acknowledge that she was a
hard worker on and off the field and someone they could rely on to
execute hard plays on the field.
Janelle is a native of Stockton, California and graduate from Tokay High in 2011. She was a four-year starter for the Tokay Tigers in both outfield and infield. In her sophomore year of high school, she was part of the TCAL League Champions team. For both her junior and senior year, she was an Honorable Mention for league MVP awards. She is currently studying Cinema and plans on transferring to San Francisco State in hopes of becoming a Cinematographer or Editor for films. She would like to thank her family and her boyfriend for the support on this incredible journey that she is taking this season!
