Offense Struggles as Hawks Fall to Panthers

SACRAMENTO (10-12) - After playing a tough game against American River College on Wednesday, the Hawks returned home to take on Sacramento City College. Despite a slow offensive game, the Hawks were able to stay close to the cross-town Panthers but lost 3-0.

The Hawks combined for thirty-four kills and fifty digs during the three set match. Taryn Oberle led the Hawks with a .278 hit percentage in which she picked up seven kills. Kylie Pires led the team with thirteen kills. Rebakkah McLaughlin picked up her twelfth double-double of the season with thirteen digs and twenty-five assists.

Unfortunately, the Hawks were unable to overcome their own mistakes. Cosumnes River combined for twenty three hitting errors, seven missed serves, and seven reception errors. Those errors gave Sacramento City 37 of their 75 points.

Up Next-Cosumnes River has a rare week in which they play both games at home. On Wednesday, the Hawks take on Folsom Lake College and on Friday, the Hawks will host Santa Rosa Junior College.
