Four Hawks Earn Post-Season Honors

The honors are rolling in for the Cosumnes River Hawks softball team at the end of the regular season. Pitcher Anjalina Dahdouh and utility player Trinity Jordan were named to the 2023 3CFCA all-Northern California team. They were also named first-team all-Big 8 along with outfielder Sarah Babby. Infielder Emily Johnson was named second team all-conference.

"I'm excited for our players. It was well-deserved. I think we had good representation in the all-conference and all-state selections and that speaks to the depth of our team," said head coach Kristy Schroeder.

Jordan, a sophomore, led the team in three offensive categories: batting average (.410), home runs (4), and hits (48). This ranked her sixth in the Big 8 in each category. Dahdouh led the team with a 2.24 ERA, 10 wins, and 94 strikeouts. She was ranked in the top seven in each of the pitching categories. The freshman pitcher was also a threat on offense hitting .309 and leading the team in runs with 31. Babby, a freshman, batted .338 for the Hawks and .368 during Big 8 play. She scored 20 runs and had a .976 fielding percentage as an outfielder. Johnson, also a freshman, earned second team honors for her offensive production. She hit .360 on the year and tallied 26 RBI for the Hawks. She was second on the team in hits with 45.

The Hawks host first round action of the California Community College Athletic Association Softball Championship on Friday against Feather River College.
