Hawks Can't Hold On Against Blue Devils

MERCED (2-21) – The Hawks hit the road for only the second time this season as they took on Merced College in Merced. The Blue Devils topped the Hawks 12-11.

Both teams won their last game. The Hawks won 6-3 over Chabot College in Sacramento on Tuesday while the Blue Devils won 9-4 over Gavilan College on Tuesday in Merced

The Hawks had plenty of offensive firepower. Burle Dixon went 2-3 with two home runs and 5 RBIs in the loss. Griffin Selby also had a solo home run for the Hawks. Jeremy Kolb went 3-3 and Alex Crouch added a pair of hits as well. Greg Creamer, Clay Duval, Dean Lucas and Joey Pankratz added hits to contribute as well. Essex Brown accounted for a run after reaching base on a walk.

The Hawks would use seven pitchers on the day. Josh Caldwell got the start and got two innings of work. Ethan Torres, Owen Hunt, Jorge Garcia, Troy Davis, Brian Freitas and Selby would all see action on the mound for the Hawks.

The Hawks will finish their series with the Blue Devils on Saturday at Conway Field.
