SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The CRC men's soccer team is putting their brand-new soccer facilities on display this weekend, when they play host to 13 of the top CCCAA men's programs.  The three-day event kicks off Friday afternoon with four matches, and will conclude Sunday afternoon with a "points winner" being recognized on the showcase trophy.  CRC will play three matches this weekend against teams from across northern California.

The event features some of the top programs from all over the state, including four-time consecutive CCCAA state champion Mt. San Antonio College.  The "Mounties" will play in the showcase's featured match, which will take play Saturday night under the lights at CRC stadium, against Big 8 opponent Santa Rosa.  The event will kick off with the host Cosumnes River Hawks taking on Shasta on Friday afternoon, at 1 PM.  CRC will return to action on Saturday with a match against a tough Evergreen Valley team.  Kickoff is scheduled for 2 PM in that match.  The Hawks will close out their weekend with a match against Yuba, which will take place Sunday at noon.

The showcase is an exciting opportunity for CRC to display their brand new soccer fields, which opened earlier this season.  The facilty houses two FIFA regulation fields, with a seating capacity of approximately 200.  The fields feature hybrid Bermuda grass on the two 120 x 80 fields.  The event will also be an opportunity for newcomers to the campus to see the recently-renovated CRC stadium.  The renovation included replacing the grass field with a synthetic playing surface, new restroom and concession stand construction, a new ticket booth, and new wheelchair ramps.  A grass warm-up area was installed beyond the south endzone, as well.

Daily passes will be available for $6 for general admission, $4 for seniors, and $2 for children.  Admission is always free for CRC students, staff and faculty.  Concessions will be available to purchase at the event.  Parking permits are available at designated kiosks in the parking lots.
