ISAAC MCDANIEL NAMED CRC STUDENT-ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

SACRAMENTO, Calif.-Isaac McDaniel (Oakland, Calif./Grant), a freshman forward for the Cosumnes River men’s soccer team, has been named CRC’s Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of October 6-12.  This is the first time McDaniel has received the honor this season.

McDaniel has scored goals in two consecutive contests, and in three of the last four, as CRC has extended their undefeated streak to four matches with a pair of victories over Central Valley Conference opponents.  McDaniel scored two goals to lead the Hawks over CVC-powerhouse Taft 2-0 last Friday.  He also scored the team’s lone goal in their contest this past Tuesday against Sequoias on the road.  McDaniel has scored goals in five matches this season, leading the team in that statistical category with seven on the year.  His seven goals currently lead the Big 8 conference, and are good for sixth in the CCCAA north region.

This is McDaniel’s first time receiving the Student-Athlete of the Week award, as well as the third for the men’s soccer team.  Juan Pablo Cruz and Luis Acosta have also received the award this season.  The Hawks return to play today when they host Fresno City College.  Today’s match is scheduled for 4 PM.
