QUINCY (8-30) - The CRC men's soccer team were determined to bounce back from a difficult result on Tuesday as they traveled to Quincy to take on Feather River College.

The Hawks mind set was to be on the front foot and their actions proved it. In the fifteenth minute, the Hawks press forced the Golden Eagles' defense into a mistake as Francisco Comparan was able to play a ball to Roy Rangel for a goal. The goal marked the first goal of the year for the Hawks and the first goal of Rangel's collegiate career.

The recipe seemed to work again as ten minutes later, the Hawks' press forced a mistake as Ian Gomez was fouled in the penalty area resulting in a penalty kick. Sophomore Lincoln Carvalho stepped up and buried the ball to the bottom corner to give the Hawks a 2-0 lead.

The Golden Eagles were able to get one back on a penalty kick cutting the Hawks' lead to 2-1 going into halftime.

Looking to continue their first half success, the Hawks applied the pressure to the backline of the Golden Eagles and converted a goal in the 48th minute  Roy Rangel shot after a Jubilee Emojong pass to extend the Hawks' lead to 3-1.

The Golden Eagles began to apply pressure and were able to earn their second goal on a shot which goalkeeper Hector Grajeda saw late through all the bodies and cut the Hawks' lead to 3-2 in the 75th minute.

With new found energy, Feather River went on the offensive. In the 78th minute, Mitchell McLeod unleashed a missile to the far post to tie the match at 3-3. Things went from bad to worse in the 85th minute as a foul was called against CRC for a jersey pull in the penalty area. Grajeda made a big save to preserve the 3-3 tie.

This leaves the Hawks 0-1-1 on the season. The next match for the Hawks is Tuesday as they take on Monterey Peninsula College in Monterey.
