CRC Tennis shows well at State Tournament!

The Cosumnes River College Tennis team is inexperienced in the ways of high-pressure tennis tournaments, but that didn't stop them from showing what the rest of the Big 8 should expect next year when they face the Hawks.

In Men's play, nobody in their right minds saw CRC sending any doubles teams to any playoff competition at the beginning of the year.  As the team grew in confidence as well as ability the wins came, especially in the qualifying tournaments.

Both men's teams drew tough opponents and they acquitted themselves well. Joshua Frazier and Abiel Lazcandon  met up with Austin Lux  and Kyler Fields from Bakersfield College. While Joshua and Abiel lost in straight sets 6-1, 6-1, it was a tremendous spot for them as they experienced what it was like under that kind of pressure, which will benefit them greatly in the future.

The Hawks number one team consisting of Stephen Albert and Yashneel Krishna were lucky enough to have a bye in the first round matches on Thursday before meeting the number 12 doubles team from SoCal, Erik Martinez and Jeffery Alidina from Mt. San Antonio College. Albert and Krishna played inspired tennis though they lost in straight sets 6-3, 6-3. At the level of bracket play they finished at, in the top 64 doubles teams in the state, it is an incredible way to end the season.
