The Cosumnes River Hawks (CRC) posted a doubleheader sweep over Butte College in their 2024 home opener. CRC first eked out a close 1-0 win and closed the day with a 9-1 victory.

In a tight game one, Tatiana Blas kept Butte off the board with a masterful pitching performance. Blas yielded only two hits and struck out 14 Roadrunners. CRC's lone run came in the second when Brooke Hanson's single drove in Isabella Vela. Vela was 2-3 in the game.

Game two saw CRC open up offensively. Eight Hawks had at least one hit and nine different players scored. Emily Johnson Led the way going 3-4. Avery Jolley was 2-4 with a triple and two RBI, and Kaile Toy was also 2-4 with a run scored. A.J. Dahdouh earned the win in the circle and struck out nine.

The Hawks continue their homestand on Friday, February 2 hosting a doubleheader with Lassen College.
