Hawks Continue Hot Start Against Lassen

The Cosumnes River Hawks continued their fast start to the 2024 season with a home sweep over the Lassen College Cougars on Friday. The Hawks won game one 7-0 and closed with 10-2 run-rule in five innings pushing their record to 7-1 on the season.

In the opener, Tatiana Blas pitched a no-hitter in another dominant performance. Blas struck out 13 Lassen batters in seven innings of work. She was aided by a productive CRC offense. Kalie Toy, Avery Jolley, Emily Johnson, Abigail Woodfill, and A.J. Dahdouh all had two hits. Toy and Dahdouh both scored two runs while Jolley and Johnson both had three RBI. Johnson also had a homerun.

The Hawks made quick work of Lassen in game two behind Dahdouh's strong outing. In five innings, she struck out eight and allowed only one earned run. The Hawks remained explosive on offense scoring in every inning. Johnson and Woodfill both had two hits while Malia Babasa and Brooke Hanson each scored twice.  

CRC will resume play next week at home versus Reedley on Tuesday, February 6, and Ohlone on Friday, February 9.
