Hawks Push Record to 9-1 with Sweep of Ohlone

The Cosumnes River Softball team continued their hot start to the 2024 season with another double-header sweep of Ohlone College on Friday, February 9th.  The Hawks shutout the Renegades on game won 6-0 and followed that with a 9-4 victory in the second match-up.

Tatiana Blas was once again dominant in circle for CRC in the first game. Blas pitched a complete game shutout, striking out six and allowing only four baserunners. Offensively, the Hawks exploded for 10 hits. Kalie led the way going 3-4 with an RBI and two runs scored. Malia Babasa and Abigail Woodfill both went 2-3 at the plate and Babasa scored twice.

The Hawks relied on the bats in game two as well. CRC was powered by Emily Johnson and Avery Jolley who both went 3-4. Johnson had a double and a home run leading to 3 RBI. Jolley had 4 RBI and scored a run. AJ Dahdouh earned the win in the circle striking out six in a complete game win.

"Tatiana pitched great in the first game and the middle of our line-up was awesome in game two. If we continue to play like that we have a chance to beat anyone we play," said head coach Kristy Schroeder.

The Hawks hit the road to play San Jose City College on Tuesday, February 13.
