Personal:  Akila’s family includes dad Jevon, mom Kimya, sister Amani, and brothers Ajonte and Amani. She started playing basketball when she was 12 years old. She chose this sport because she grew up around it and fell in love with the game. Her major is Speech Language Pathology. She aspires to have a career in speech pathology after she plays professional basketball.  In her spare time she enjoys going to the gym and playing basketball with her family.
