Hawks finish CRC Invitational with 2-1 record.


Game one:

After losing their season opener to College of the Siskyious the Hawks expected to bounce back with a strong showing in the 2016 CRC Invitational Tournament.

They started out by defeating Butte College on Thursday night by an 82-59 score behindfive players in double figures. Gina Ingravallo and Daija Ward matched with 16 points apiece. Trina Shaner had 13 points with Nayani Gordon's 12 and Jasmine Chapman's 11 right behind.

The Hawks had 38 rebounds on the night led by Ward's 9, five of which were offensive. Akila Britton had six for the Hawks.

Taneisha Dyer had another stat filling line with six points six steals, five assists and four rebounds.

The Hawks led by 20 points at halftime and never looked back.

Game two:

The Hawks faced off against LA Trade Technical College on Friday and although they lost, they came back in the second half to make it a closeer game losing by a 78-68 score.

Nayani Gordon broke out with a double-double of 22 points and 10 rebounds. Trina Shaner followed with 13 points and Taneisha Dyer had 11. 

Daija Ward had 9 points 5 steals  and 4 assists on the night.

Third Place Game:

Against Feather River the Hawks were led by Trina Shaner's 24 points and Daija Ward's double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds. Gina Ingravallo had 14 as well for the Hawks as they took home third in the tournament.

Both Nayani Gordon and Akila Britton had 7 rebounds apiece for the Hawks.

The Hawks are now 2-2 on the season and are off until the 22nd when they will take on West Hills-Lemoore here at CRC in a 5pm tipoff.
