CRC vs ARC HALLOWEEN SOCCER BATTLE

Sacramento, Calif. – The Battle between CRC and ARC men's and women's teams happens simultaneously today, it is hosted by Cosumnes River College at 3:30 PM. This battle of Sacramento traditional soccer powers always provides great excitement and drama!

On men's side both teams are having a down year.  With that being said the CRC men can keep their conference title hopes alive with a victory.  The Hawks are currently 2-2 in Big 8 Conference play, and with a victory today they will stay 1 game behind conference leader Santa Rosa JC.  ARC is winless in conference play so far this season with a record of 0-5.   In first game between these two schools CRC came out on top with a 2-0 win with goals by freshmen Christopher Navarro and sophomore Tyler Mickey.  Assistant Coach Brandon Evangelista says "With 4 games remaining in conference play every point counts and today we face our cross town rivals ARC.  No matter the records for each team this game is for bragging rights in Sacramento for is the better JC.  Both teams will play physical and be very focused to win the game.  CRC has been high on energy and competition during training this week and are ready to give it their all to ARC!"
 

On the Women's side looks like the teams are going in different directions.  The CRC Hawks have won their last two games for a Big 8 Conference record of 6-3-1.  The ARC Beavers are on 3 game losing streak for a conference record of 2-7-1.  In the first meeting ARC's Sierra Montano scored in 14th minute to take the lead.  After that the CRC ladies took control scoring 2 quick goals to take a 2-1 lead into halftime.  The goals were scored by sophomore Brianna Ascencio in 21st min. followed by sophomore Kylie Forbes goal in the 22nd minute.   When 2nd half started the Hawks continue to dominate and 2 minutes into the half sophomore Selina Barbosa scored a great goal for a lead of 3-1.  This would finish the scoring for the afternoon with the final score CRC 3 and ARC 1.  Coach Cesar Plasencia says "he hopes to continue the good play, and get on a 3 game winning streak."
