Late goal for ARC ties Hawks Women 1-1.

Late goal for ARC ties Hawks Women 1-1.

Early season conference play is just as important as late season showdowns and this one was important to the Hawks. The tie against American River didn't end the season but the Hawks will be fighting the rest of the way as they fall to 1-3-1 in Big 8 play.

Andrea Story got the Hawks rolling just seven minutes in with her third goal of the year for a 1-0 lead which stood up until the 84th minute when ARC tied the score 1-1. Averen Calvin's assist on Story's goal was her third on the season.

The Hawks put more shots on goal than the Beavers did by an 8-4 advantage as Elizabeth Kowalczyk had three saves on the day.

A full 90 minute effort against any team is what's needed, "We shouldn't have given up that late goal", stated Head Coach Cesar Plasencia, "We have what we need to win, we just need to put it together."

Next up for the Hawks: A home game this Fridat the 30th against Sac City College who are 2-8 0n the year and 0-4 in Big 8 play. Game time will be 3:30pm on the CRC pitch.
