Women's Soccer Earns First Win of the Season

FAIRFIELD (8-30) – The Lady Hawks defeated Solano Community College to tally their first road game win of the season.

The first goal of the season for the Hawks came from freshman forward Obioma Onejeme who scored on a breakaway goal at the eight minute mark. The Hawks began to build momentum as the minutes rolled by creating plenty of goal scoring opportunities.  However, in the 25th minute, the Falcons answered and tied the game 1-1, and again in the 31st minute, the Falcons found the net making the score 2-1.

Freshman midfielder Bailey Bradford led the team in shots with six. Bradford was able to lift up the Hawks recording two goals in the 33rd and 34th minutes respectively. The Hawks took the lead before half making the game 3-2. In the first half, the Hawks outshot Falcons, 15-3.

During the second half, the Falcons saw additional scoring action in the 63rd minute converting the score to 3-3.  In the 77th minute, sophomore Alexis Brown scored off of an assist from Alexandria Torres ultimately sealing the win for the Hawks.

Freshmen goalkeeper Tanayjah Tamano made two saves as the Hawks ended the game with a 4-3 victory.

The Hawks remain on the road, traveling to face Lake Tahoe Community College on Wednesday. The match kicks off at 4:00 p.m.
