Reedley defeats Hawks in Women's Tennis.

Reedley College traveled to CRC for the Hawks first home duel match.  With enthusiastic crowd support and a fierce determination, the Men's and Women's team both fought valiantly to overcome early deficits.  Though both teams came up short (both losing 5-4), they put forth their best team effort to date.

In women's play, Taylor Galya (#1 singles) put forth a workman like effort to improve her match record to 5-1, winning 6-0,6-0.  Kyleigh Carpenter and D'lyn Garcia played inspired doubles, utilizing a new aggressive mentality, and powerful groundstrokes.

Coach Ellis remarked, that the highlight of the match was seeing the Hawks improve their mental toughness.  "Every time they're exposed to a new level of play, to new challenges, they get better, that's a sign of resiliency that will continue to benefit them in tennis and in life.  Dealing with life's disappointments and struggles and coming out more determined to improve is such an important quality in young people."

The CRC Women's team is in action next, on Friday when they travel up the road for their match against Sacramento City College.
