Vikings conquer the Hawks 3-0

It's always tough to invade Vikings territory and was again on Friday night as the Hawks lost in three sets by 25-18, 25-11, and 25-11 scores.

It was a rough time for the Hawks as the Vikings had a 44-14 kill advantage in the match. DVC also had a 44-17 advantage in digs to go along with their 41-14 assist margin.

The Hawks were led by Olivia Sowles who had seven kills followed by Hannah Norris who contributed five.

Lauren Smith led the Hawks with 13 assists in the three sets. Keilani Gaither had four digs to lead the Hawks followed by Justine Busse, Smith, and Norris who each had three digs.

Norris and Meg Maddalena each had service aces for the Hawks in the match.

The Hawks dropped to 5-14 on the season and are still looking for their first Big 8 victory.

Next up for the Hawks are a couple of home matches this week as Sierra College currently number 7 in the state and 9-0 in Big 8 play and 15-3 overall visits on Wednesday night for a 6:30pm match, while Sacramento City's Panthers now ranked at number 8 in the state at 9-1 and 17-1 overall come stalking into the CAC on Friday night at 6:30 to take on the Hawks.
