Hawks Take the Win in Last Home Game of the Season

Sacramento, CA- Cosumnes River College hosted their sophomore night on November 10th as they took on Diablo Valley College. The Hawks honored their three sophomores before the game. Maya Young, Justine Busse, and Meg Maddalena are all transferring from CRC to continue their education at a 4 year University. Both Maya Young and Meg Maddalena are talking to schools to continue playing volleyball.

 The Hawks defeated the Vikings in 4 sets to take their 9th victory on the season. Cosumnes River College came out strong and took the first two sets from DVC. The Hawks started out slow in set 3 and were unable to recover before the Vikings took a 25-23 set victory. Set 4 went to the Hawks as they took the win 25-19.

Sierra Voyvodich led the Hawks with 20 kills on 55 attempts during the 4 set match. She hit a solid .291 to lead the offensive attack by the Hawks. Destanie Elliott and Rebakkah McLaughlin both contributed 10 kills to help shoulder the offensive load. Kills weren't the only stat that Rebakkah contributed. She earned a triple-double as 39 assists and 26 digs were also added by the CRC setter. Maya Young, the Libero for the Hawks, had 42 digs during the match.

Up Next- The Hawks (9-15) look to end their season on a win streak as they travel to Sacramento City College to take on the Panthers (7-20). Game time will be 6:30 at Sacramento City College.
